Brucehill Entrance Regeneration Phase II

Phase I of the regeneration at the only entrance / exit to Brucehill estate included the widening of a path with an improved stairway, re-surfacing of the shop area & public footway and new bow top fencing surrounding the footpath and flag pole.
Upgrading the entrance to the estate will improve the image of Brucehill, both for the local community and visitors with the additional benefit of encouraging people to use and invest in local facilities.
The second phase of this project has addressed the lack of quality greenspace by planting around the flag pole and further grassed areas on Brucehill Road. This is now complete.
Involving the local schools in a flag making project raised at an official event will create pride of place and a sense of ownership for the local people.
Castlehill
Phoenix Pocket Park - View design plans here
The area behind the Phoenix Centre is under utilised due to previous problems with anti-social behaviour. The Trust intends to regenerate this area and to create a new community garden incorporating solutions to previous problems associated with this space through extensive community consultation. Mike Hyatt Landscape Architects will prepare the design and liaise with the community and WDC.
Phase II of Cumbrae Cres South play space
The Trust has installed additional equipment on the spaces within the site and created new shrub beds around the periphery of the play space. The Play Practice also designed Phase II in keeping with the original design.
This play area has been a huge success for the local community group, Castlehill and Westcliffe Regeneration & Housing Action Group who have been fundamental in the development of projects in Castlehill.
